Coral Bell 's renowned book, Dependant Ally, was hailed as the seminal work of its day in analysing Australia 's place in the international arena.
Now, in A World Out of Balance: American ascendancy and international politics in the 21st Century,
Coral Bell provides us with the new essential tool for understanding
today's global events. This is a remarkable and insightful analysis of
the political, economic, and sociological issues facing our world at
the opening of the 21st century from a writer with rare talent for
providing clear insight into what often seems an increasingly chaotic
world.
The media, the environment, politics,
cultural identity globalisation, are all drawn together in a coherent
examination of how major world events will play out over the next 40
years.
